MINDSET FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE

Our current mindsets have an influence over how we interpret events. Some people bounce back from failures, persevere in the face of obstacles, and see opportunities in adversities. They have the skills to reframe their beliefs towards constructive responses.

This workshop helps participants to develop an awareness of how their beliefs interpret an event. This interpretation then shapes the resulting feelings and actions taken.

DURATION: 90 minutes

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Gain awareness of our negative emotions and beliefs
  • Use the ABC model to process events
  • Reframe limiting beliefs towards constructive responses

Thriving with Resilience Strategies

THRIVING WITH RESILIENCE STRATEGIES

Our triggers are often a manifestation of something deeper, such as deeply-seated beliefs and unconstructive thinking patterns. In turn, these limiting beliefs and patterns lead to very unconstructive responses during triggering moments.

We can gain awareness of these limiting beliefs and patterns, and uncover the underlying past pain that drives them. This allows us to better prepare strategies to manage triggering moments.

This workshop helps participants to explore three types of strategies to manage triggering moments – Distracting, Distancing, and Disputing.

DURATION: 90 minutes

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Realise the influences of our Past Pain
  • Gain awareness of Deeply Seated Beliefs and Thinking Traps
  • Learn resilience strategies (Distracting, Distancing, Disputing)

THE PURSUIT OF PASSION

Angela Duckworth, a psychology professor from the University of Pennsylvania and the author of Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, says, “Passion for your work is a little bit of discovery, followed by a lot of development, and then a lifetime of deepening.”

Contrary to popular belief, much of what we see as success comes from passion and perseverance, and less of talent.

Passion is positively correlated with career commitment, flow, work performance, job satisfaction, and well-being (Vallerand et al., 2014, Pollack et al., 2020, Jung & Sohn, 2022).

Through this session, participants will explore harmonious passion and learn to apply perseverance strategies to their passion, hence resulting in greater satisfaction and success.

DURATION: 90 minutes

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Explore the Discovering, Developing, and Deepening of PassioN
  • Explore your Importance, Interests, Strengths, and Perseverance strategy – 4F
  • Explore Harmonious Passion

Burnout and Engagement at Work

Burnout and Engagement at Work

Burnout and Engagement at Work

BURNOUT AND ENGAGEMENT AT WORK

In our fast-paced and high demands work setting, burnout is a common phenomenon. Lacking the skills to manage burnout comes at a high cost to self and others. A study on a multi-occupational sample of 1197 Spanish professionals shows a negative correlation between burnout and work performance (Sanchez-Gomez & Breso, 2020).

While some of us may not be experiencing burnout, having the skills to foster greater engagement at work not only benefits the organisation but self.

This workshop helps participants to explore ways to think, do, and foster relationships at work to manage burnout and cultivate engagement.

DURATION: 90 minutes

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Gain awareness of Burnout and Engagement
  • Explore strategies to manage Burnout
  • Explore strategies to increase engagement

COMMUNICATION FOR STRONGER RELATIONSHIPS

Communication is a key part of sustaining quality relationships. Oftentimes, relationships weaken because of a breakdown in communication. Breakdown in communication can occur either in the way we respond to the good news of others or to the triggering moments involving others.

How we respond to others in good times and bad times can strengthen or weaken relationships. This workshop explores the scientifically validated skills in responding in good and bad times.

Through this workshop, participants will gain the skills to respond constructively in good times and bad times, hence strengthening the quality of relationships, both in personal life and at work.

DURATION: 90 minutes

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

NYC has also partnered HI to roll out the Resilience and Well-being series in 2020 to promote well-being amid an unprecedented strain on youths’ mental health brought about by COVID pandemic. Through these programmes, HI has reached out to over 6,000 participants. HI also has in-house capabilities and domain knowledge with regard to mental well-being... HI’s emphasis on evidence-based data and information to develop and implement programmes is also a reason that NYC is partnering with HI in 2022 for their signature “10/10 Positive Psychology Well-Being Programme”, benefiting 800 youths (leaders and participants) over a three-year period.

Happiness Initiative is our preferred training partner when it comes to training students and educators in local schools about Growth Mindset. In 2021, we collaborated in developing and training the Growth Mindset Series to empower teachers to reflect on how their mindsets have shaped their past and therefore to adopt growth strategies in working towards a meaningful future. More than 400 teachers have benefited from the training with many being grateful for the introspective nature of the session and the useful approaches in managing challenging situations they face in their personal lives and in school.
